So the big question, "Who and What is Galena and What's the story?" Well, here is the scoop.
The Founders of Galena Aesthetics was desirous of a name to embrace the two different cultural backgrounds that they come from. Maria is of Peruvian background and Roshani is of Indian origin. One of the first ideas that came to mind was Induvian MedSpa - a combination of Indian and Peruvian = Induvian.
However, the name did not quite settle fully as the name did not have a real meaning. So back to the drawing board they went. Maria was cleaning out her closet to find old bio- and organic chemistry textbooks that she was dusting off and casually browsing. The word "Galena" stood out.
Galena is a natural form of mineral in lead sulfide. It crystallizes in this amazing octahedral form. It is actually an important component in making silver. You can touch this mineral in its natural form and it's not poisonous, even though there is lead in it! The sulfide makes it tolerable to touch it. Its natural form when it's cut is this beautiful lustrous and dazzling color. But when it weathers, it becomes a rich distinctive silver-black color. Most importantly, it is a very abundant mineral that is imported and exported between India and Peru! They hit the jackpot! Both ladies were in agreement that this was going to be the name of their dream MedSpa business for five main reasons.
First, it was in alignment with both of their cultures. Secondly, the name sounds beautiful. The name is easy to pronounce. Additionally, the name actually means something. Finally, Galena is just a beautiful blend of art, science and culture! There you have it, Galena Aesthetics.

Roshani, a University of Illinois at Chicago - College of Nursing graduate, furthered her education with a Master's in Nursing from Florida. With an extensive background in Plastic Surgery since 2000, particularly in aesthetic eyelid surgery like blepharoplasty using transconjunctival approach, she gained expertise in various facial aesthetic enhancements. She notably co-directed a fellowship program in Facial Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery at the University of Chicago and coordinated live surgery and cadaver workshops for international surgeons.
Maria, a University of Central Florida graduate, furthered her studies with a Master's in Nursing in Chicago. Driven by a love for dermatology, she believes that understanding dermatological principles is vital for achieving exceptional aesthetic outcomes. By addressing skin issues like texture, pigmentation, and elasticity, Maria ensures that aesthetic results are rooted in healthy, radiant skin, emphasizing the importance of a healthy canvas before any aesthetic procedure.
