What is Included in this Program?

At Galena Aesthetics, our Providers will conduct a thorough assessment to determine the type, severity, and underlying causes of acne. This involves examining the skin, reviewing medical history, and identifying contributing factors such as hormonal imbalances, dietary triggers, or skincare habits.

A customized treatment plan based on the medical evaluation is developed to address the individual's specific acne concerns. This may include a combination of topical treatments, lifestyle modifications, and skincare recommendations tailored to the individual's needs. At Galena Aesthetics, we believe that healthy, clearer skin can be achieved without the need of oral medications. Long-term side effects and permanent problems are not worth the risk when other modalities are available.

The program includes a consistent and gentle skincare routine tailored to the individual's skin type and concerns. This may include cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing, and sun protection using non-comedogenic products that do not clog pores or exacerbate acne. Specialized treatments, such as chemical peels may also be recommended to address specific concerns.

Our Acne Specialists will review dietary and lifestyle modifications. Certain dietary factors, such as high-glycemic foods, dairy products, or foods high in saturated fats, may exacerbate acne symptoms in some individuals. An acne boot camp may involve dietary modifications, such as reducing intake of triggering foods and incorporating more skin-friendly foods rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Lifestyle modifications, such as stress management techniques, adequate sleep, and regular exercise, may also be emphasized to support overall skin health.

Regular follow-up appointments with our Providers to monitor progress, adjust treatment as needed, and address any concerns or side effects is key. Close monitoring is important to ensure the effectiveness and safety of the treatment plan and to track improvements in acne symptoms over time.

Overall, an acne boot camp provides a structured and proactive approach to treating acne, with the goal of achieving clearer, healthier skin through a combination of medical interventions, skincare strategies, and lifestyle modifications. It emphasizes the importance of consistency, patience, and collaboration between the individual and their healthcare provider to achieve long-term success in managing acne.

Success Stories

“...I don’t have to wear baseball caps and wear my hair long..”

Acne can affect a teenager's appearance and self-image, leading to feelings of self-consciousness, embarrassment, and low self-esteem. Visible acne lesions, such as pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and cysts, may be sources of insecurity and social anxiety, especially during adolescence when appearance is often closely scrutinized by peers.

“...I’m in my late 30’s and I was still having breakouts! I’m finally loving the skin I’m in…”

Acne-related concerns may affect social interactions and relationships, leading to avoidance of social situations, withdrawal from social activities, or difficulty forming new friendships. Fear of judgment or rejection by peers may contribute to social anxiety and reluctance to participate in social events or engage in public settings.

“...I finally have clear skin and no more pain!...”

Acne lesions can cause physical discomfort, including pain, itching, and inflammation, which may interfere with daily activities and quality of life. Severe acne lesions, such as cysts or nodules, may be particularly painful and may leave scars or hyperpigmentation if not treated promptly and effectively.
